Bobby Grant --------> Blackpool (farewell thread) 09:59 - Jul 17 with 9422 viewsDaley_Lama

According to the Blackpool local rag he has agreed terms and will undergo a medical this afternoon.

No mention of what the fee was.

So presumably they've offered the fee we want in the last day or so since Hill said their bid was rejected. Moved very fast after that if he's agreed terms.

The jump to the Championship, plus the location being in the North West has probably made wage negotiations easy.

The 'look your honour I play for a black manager' an added bonus in his court case and i would now expect it to be thrown out.

Just hope we got a few quid out of it.

Everything thats been, has past. The answers in the looking glass!

I think its important to compare the efforts made by Hill to keep JK with the same attempts to keep Grant. He might have known he was wasting his time, but based on his very open and honest interviews, he doesn't appear to be as bothered by the chance of this departure as he was by any other player who has progressed upwards.

The stats on Grant say it all. Bags of goals, with a goals per game record as good as anyone - all the more impressive when you consider he's not played as a natural forward. But the number of games missed through suspension also tell its own story. A matchwinner and a liability all rolled into one. I can't see that changing now, just a shame that Hill didn't get hold of him at 17.

I doubt the fee will represent his ability but given the way he secured a free transfer for himself at Scunny, we should perhaps be grateful that we've been able to act before it got to that stage here.

So where do we go from here?
Seriously think that we need another out and out striker, especially now Grimes has gone as well.
Think we will be lacking.

A talent no doubt but too synonymous with the old regime and the bad culture that they infected the club with. Best for all parties if he is allowed to move on.

We are going to be the only team in history where 7 midfielders get 10+ goals next season.

In all seriousness, we have a few players in midfield who could bag themselves a few this season, namely Hogan, Done, Henderson especially, but also Tutte and Lund. we also have the likes of Bunney etc too. I think this was highlighted in the Halifax game where despite us not playing well, we still managed to get 2 goals. Donelly should get at the very least 10+ goals no problem.

Tara Bobby.

Great talent, and you saved us a fair few times with your goals, but you let us down almost as many when you lost your head.

Easily replaceable - Unless we already have done in Matty Done, who in my opinion is just as good and has a much better attitude. Onwards and upwards.

Tangled up in blue.

'Paul Ince's Blackpool want to bring in striker Bobby Grant from Rochdale, but their manager Keith Hill says they'll have to offer a bigger bid in order to land the 23-year-old.'

Just come up on Sky sports live transfer watch.

The fee is a bonus and perhaps goes towards the over payment on wages last season....

I would be happy with 150k, with the baggage and in last year of contract

Days like this one weren't supposed to happen to Rochdale.

We do love a good sell-on clause, so I wouldn't be surprised. He's too local for bury's worldie tastes now; have they not got any Brazilians on trial?

Every aspiring team needs a Brazilian...

Matt Done will be more than adequate as a replacement, will add more to the team and probably score as many goals. With no fuss, no drama, and no enforced sitting in the stand for weeks on end.

Always seemed to put in 100% for the team and his goals/improvement in discipline under Hill probably saw us stay clear of relegation. Don't blame him for wanting a chance to prove himself in the championship, good luck Grant.
